This qualification is designed for learners who want to acquire introductory, practical skills as a healthcare support work, including three weeks work experience at a healthcare provider. This 20 week vocational programme provides learners with essential foundational skills and is a pathway for further study.
If you’re passionate about helping others in your community, this vocational Health programme will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to prepare for your chosen career path as a support worker in the mental health, community health, addiction, or aged care sector.
Be a minimum of 17 years of age.
Have an acceptable New Zealand Police vet prior to the beginning of practical experience

English Language /International Applicants: General or Academic score of IELTS 5 with no band score lower than IELTS 5 OR equivalent under NZQA PAA Rule 18.
Domestic applicants with English as a second language: must demonstrate sufficiency in English language at interview.
YOUTH GUARANTEE
You can attend this course for free if you are aged 16-24 and meet the course entry requirements. This course is part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme.
You can also get help with paying for travel to and from your course. This can all be sorted through Student Support.
