Diploma in Screen & Stage Acting (Level 5)

This full-time, year-long Diploma is an ideal introduction to the fundamentals of the screen and stage industry.

In this action-packed year, you'll discover your professional toolbox of acting skills, then begin to learn how to harness its power to deliver entertaining and engaging dramatic performances. You'll bridge the connection between your audience and the stage or screen as well as learning how to portray emotions through your physical performance.

This Level 5 course will also prepare you for the audition process for Yoobee's Level 6 Diploma in Drama, giving you an introduction to life at Yoobee and a leg up against other auditionees.

Students must be auditioned by academic staff.The course is open to all New Zealand and international students.

• All applicants must complete the course application form and written requirements

• We will invite suitable applicants to attend an audition workshop at South Seas

• International applicants must be 18 or older

• International students must demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS (Academic) Level 5.5

The audition workshop involves applicants taking part in a series of exercises observed by South Seas On-screen Acting tutors, who assess the applicant’s suitability for a place on the course. Tutors will invite some applicants for a 'callback', to complete more exercises and submit to an interview. The tutors then contact all applicants and advise whether they will be offered a place on the course or not. Students will need to provide a CV (work or performance) and Headshot prior to the audition.
