This qualification is designed for 16-19 year old learners who want to learn introductory, practical knowledge of the sports and recreation industry, including what careers are available and what further study is on offer. This hands-on programme provides learners with the confidence to continue onto Level 3 courses at NZIS, and/or take up junior voluntary roles in the sports industry.

If you are 16 – 19 years old and are interested in Sport, this FREE course is the perfect starting point.

You won't be stuck in a classroom all day! Over 16 weeks you’ll be busy working with your hands, doing projects, going on field trips and you'll get an introduction into the sport, recreation and fitness industries.
You’ll also meet others like you, learn about different cultures, visit a marae and get to visit some industry workplaces
1:1 support from your tutor: We understand that everyone’s different. That’s why take the time to tailor our teaching to suit your learning style.
Further study: After this Level 2 course, you will be able to gain entry to any of our Level 3 courses.

YOUTH GUARANTEE 

You can attend this course for free if you are aged 16-24 and meet the course entry requirements. This course is part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme.
