In this level 3 esports course, students will be able to take their passion for gaming to the next level. They’ll start by learning about all the different roles that need to work together to make this multi-billion dollar global industry tick, including players, coaches, shoutcasters, camera operators, sound engineers, streaming engineers, directors and producers. After a visit to Let’s Play Live – the biggest e-sport production studio in Australasia – to see how it all comes together, students will get to work on putting together their own tournament with their classmates.

Visit Let's Play Live, the biggest esports production studio in Australasia. Then put together your own practice tournament with your classmates!

When you’ve finished this course, you’ll have the foundational skills you need to continue your studies in a range of industries and unlock heaps of different career paths, not just in gaming. You could continue your studies in animation, game development, creative media and marketing, digital innovation or even personal training to help gamers perform at their peak.

  • NCEA Level 1 or equivalent.

  • An interest in esports.

  • English Language/International Applicants: General or Academic score of 5 with no band score lower than 5 OR equivalent under Rule 18.

  • Domestic applicants with English as a second language: must demonstrate sufficiency in English language at interview.

  • Online Students: Students who enrol in our blended learning or online course will need: access to a computer or laptop, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection.

You can attend this course for free if you are aged 16-24 and meet the course entry requirements. This course is part of the government led Youth Guarantee Programme.  Under the Youth Guarantee you may also be eligible for financial support to cover the following.
