This qualification is designed for learners who want to gain further skills in food and beverage services, including menu design and food and wine pairing. This programme provides learners with a liquor License Controller Qualification, for seeking work in licensed venues.

Learn about menu designs, food and beverage service, food and wine pairing plus get to visit a brewery, a vineyard and a tourism attraction to see how the professionals do it.

You’ll also get your Licence Controller Qualification, giving yourself a great head start when you’re job hunting.

  • Domestic Students

    • You need to be at least 16 years old and achieve the required level in our evaluation.

    • Have NCEA Level 1 or equivalent, or have industry experience. An interview may be required.

    • If you don't meet these requirements but are over 20 years, you may still be admitted if you show the motivation and skills needed to succeed in the course.

    • You need to be physically able to do the practical parts of this course.

    International Students

    • You need to be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the course

    • Have completed secondary school overseas or New Zealand Year 11 or have equivalent work experience.

    • If English is your second language, you need an English level of 5.5 IELTS or equivalent with no band score lower than 5 (other English tests or evidence of your English language ability may be approved as advised by NZQA).

    • You must have travel and medical insurance and a valid visa.

    • You need to be physically able to do the practical parts of this course.

Domestic Students: $5,432 + $200 Student Services Levy Fee
International Students: NZD$11,000 Tuition fees + NZD$3,500 Course fees
