This qualification is designed for learners who want to acquire broad knowledge and skills as a hospitality worker in restaurants, covering everything from menu design, to communication skills with clients, to setting up functions.   • You need to be 16 years or older.

  • Applicants without formal qualifications must meet the minimum requirements of the NZMA entry assessment

  • If you are an international student, you must be 18 or older.

  • Applicants who do not have English as a first language will need to show that they are capable of successfully completing the course by achieving and providing

  • Documented evidence of an IELTS Score of at least 5.5 with no band score lower than 5 OR equivalent

  • If English is your second language we may get you to sit an English Language Assessment.

  • If you are an international student, you also need to have an English level of 5.5 IELTS or equivalent* with no band score lower than 5

  • You must have travel and medical insurance and a valid visa.

* Other English Tests / evidence may be approved as advised by NZQA
