This qualification is designed for learners who want to acquire foundational knowledge and skills in floristry, including the basics of floral design, running a small business, and one week of industry work experience at a retail outlet. This programmes enables learners to begin work in floristry at an entry-level, or continue study for more advanced options, including the Level 4 course at NZMA.
If you love flowers and design, and want to learn how to create stunning floral displays for your home or business, then this introductory course is for you. Learn the basics of floral design, with practical hands-on training. Then learn about the business aspect of running a florist, before taking on a week’s work experience in the industry. The skills you learn in this course, will give you the foundation you need to launch your floristry career or take your hobby to an entirely new level.
You need to be 16 years or older and achieve the required level in our evaluation.
Applicants should have completed NCEA Level 2 or equivalent is advisable.
If English is your second language, we may get you to sit an English Language Assessment. You must score an IELTS score of at least 5.0 with no band score lower than 5.0, or an NZQA approved equivalent.
