In just 16 weeks, you’ll learn the practical skills and technical smarts you need to understand networking, operating systems, hardware and scripting. Studying this will set you up to land a job in entry level I.T. support, or progress into our Bachelor of Software Engineering where you can major in Cloud, Cyber Security, Game Dev or A.I

New Zealand Diploma in Information Technology Technical Support (Level 5)

There are no mandatory prerequisites to meet regulatory body or legislative requirements for this qualification, however its recommended that students have 48 NCEA Level 2 credits in the best four subjects or Level 3 or suitable industry/ computing experience. Applicants without NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications, you may be interviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis.

If an applicant's first language is not English, they must demonstrate English language proficiency at the level of IELTS 5.5.

International students need to be at least 18 years old. 



Domestic students

You can study this Fees Free under the government’s new Targeted Training and Apprenticeship Fund initiative*.  All domestic students are eligible for fees free regardless of prior study i.e. it can be used after First Year Fees Free.

  • Compulsory student services fees.

Please note that TTAF does not cover Course Related Costs.

*TTAF will cover fees for eligible programmes until 31 December 2022. TEC is working to establish rules for study and training that start before 31 December 2022 and continues into 2023 - in general, fees for study and training past 31 December 2022 are not covered. We are currently reviewing this with TEC for students who have enrolled prior to 31 December 2022. You will be notified once the results have been confirmed. If it is not covered, you can apply for a student loan via StudyLink.
